Why You Shouldn’t Miss Hope’s March Madness

Other than a Packer playoff run, March Madness is my favorite sporting event of the year. From the upsets to the Cinderella stories to the “One Shining Moment” – I love it all! And the only thing that makes watching March Madness even better, is watching with friends and food.

The last three years, the Men of Hope’s March Madness gathering has been one of my favorite events at Hope. Not only is it awesome for the reasons described above, but it’s one of the best events to attend and meet new friends or introduce new guys to Hope. A couple of years ago, I invited a guy who had been thinking about checking out Hope, and he had a great time and was able to meet quite a few guys. In fact, he enjoyed the event so much that he even decided to check out my small group.

Whether you’re brand new to Hope or have been coming for years, I’d encourage you to check out March Madness. In case basketball, food, and friends aren’t enough to get you to come, Men of Hope has added a few things to make this year’s event even better!

  1. For the first time ever, the event is going to be at Hope. This will allow us to display four games, on four big-screens, at one time!
  2. For the first time ever, there will be a Men of Hope bracket competition. We’ve got some good prizes and it doesn’t cost anything. Fill out your bracket right now! (use the password: hopecc)
  3. For the first time ever, we are combining the March Madness event with our Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament. Even if you don’t like basketball you have a great reason to come. All proceeds will go to an awesome ministry called Source Annex, which empowers sex-trafficking victims to be free.

I hope you’ll join me on March 21 to watch some basketball, play some Hold ‘Em, or just hang out. Even if it’s your first time filling out a bracket or playing poker, maybe you could be this year’s March Madness Cinderella story.
