A Fistful Of Gospel Encouragement From One Of Your Cornermen

Stand up from that stool and answer the bell for the next round.

There are a million excuses to stay seated. Your job sucks. Your lady disrespects. The bills pile up. The grades falls short. The kids won’t obey. The church lets you down. The boss hates. And the man irritates.

But consider Him when you endure such opposition from hostile men so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. Stand up. Answer the bell.

For greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. Stand up. Answer the bell.

For no temptation has seized you except which is common to man. Stand up. Answer the bell.

And thank God that he gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Stand up. Answer the bell.

And after you have done everything to stand, stand!

When he had made purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God. Until that time came, he stood.

One day we will sit. Not today. Today we stand. Today we answer the bell.

We are hard pressed on every side but not crushed. We are perplexed but not in despair. We are persecuted but not abandoned. We are struck down but not destroyed. WE do not lose heart. Though outwardly WE are wasting away, yet inwardly WE are being renewed day by day.  For our light and momentary troubles, the troubles we face this very round, are achieving for US an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. We do this together.

Let’s stand up from our stool and answer the bell for the next round.
